This document is a step-by-step guide to take hands of Streamezzo Development Platform.
Here you will learn how to:

  • Download and install Streamezzo SDK
  • Run the First Service sample app in the Emulator

STEP 1 – Install Streamezzo SDK

  1. Download the latest version of the SDK here.
  2. Unzip the downloaded archive and copy its content in the directory of your choice.
  3. Double-click the setup file.
  4. Follow the wizard to install Streamezzo Workbench Developer on your PC.

Requirements to run Workbench Developer

  • Desktop PC running Windows XP or Vista.
  • Sun Java Development Kit: download and install JDK 5 or JDK 6
  • License key: sent by email when you registered (contact us if you didn't receive it or need it to be renewed)

  • Reference documentation (indexed HTML help packaged in Workbench Developer)
  • Components Library

 

STEP 2 – Launch the Sample App

  1. Launch Workbench Developer
  2. If the Welcome page is not displayed, access it through the menu Help > Welcome
  3. On the Welcome page, click on Samples to list available sample applications
  4. On the Samples page, select First Service; this project will now be opened in Workbench Developer
  5. Emulate the First Service application: access menu Service > Emulate
  6. Select the device of your choice from the list
  7. Click the "OK" button in the displayed Emulation dialog box to launch the emulation

This sample app demonstrates a basic splash screen, a basic menu, a date function and a basic image carousel.

Congratulation you have successfully installed the SDK and you are now ready to create and run your own apps. The best way to start is now to spend a few minutes reading Streamezzo rich media technology overview.
